Low-duty Compressor – 4-stage Execution
for Gas Turbine Feeding |
 |
The ‘Compander' type TMC is a combined machine for the use as a compact refrigeration unit for a Boil-off Gas Reliquefaction Plant.
3 compressor stages and one cryogenic expansion stage are combined on a common gearbox. In this closed process loop, nitrogen gas is compressed, the energy input removed by interstage coolers, and after the 3rd stage a low temperature level is achieved by a counter-current heat exchanger. Finally the nitrogen gas is expanded to a low outlet pressure, recovering energy with optimum efficiency.
These proven machines are designed and manufactured by Cryostar and several units have been in operation for several years, in applications where the available space called for a very compact arrangement, or where high process flexibility was needed.
The mechanical energy released during expansion in the turbine is used to drive the 3 turbocompressor stages mounted on the interconnecting parallel-shaft gearbox, with an electric motor on the central gearbox covering the energy balance.
The Cryostar Compander is a complete unit including lube oil and sealgas systems. scope. |
